Global hospitality group Accor has appointed Graham Dodd as its new Vice President of Development for the UK and Ireland, specifically covering its premium, midscale, and economy brand portfolio
In his new role, Dodd will oversee expansion plans for a range of Accor brands, including Pullman, Mƶvenpick, SwissƓtel, Novotel, Mercure, TRIBE, Ibis, Greet, and the Handwritten Collection.
Dodd joins Accor after a long stint at Hilton, where he led development efforts for its UK and Ireland operations. Before his tenure at Hilton, he worked at advisory firms including Knight Frank Hotels, Christie & Co, and Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels.
Philippe Bijaoui, Chief Development Officer for Premium, Midscale & Economy at Accor Europe & North Africa, praised Doddās ābrilliant track record and strategic insight,ā saying he is exceptionally well-placed to drive Accorās growth in the region. Dodd himself stated that he is āexcited ⦠to further strengthenā Accorās presence in the UK and Ireland and to introduce local owners to its āinnovative brandsā such as TRIBE and Greet.
Accorās decision to bring in Graham Dodd is a signal that the group is doubling down on aggressive growth in one of its most important markets. The UK and Ireland are mature but fiercely competitive hospitality landscapes, and Doddās deep experience at Hilton, combined with his real estate advisory background, gives him a unique edge.
More than simply enlarging Accorās footprint, Doddās remit suggests a strategic pivot toward dual-brand and conversion growth, especially for Accorās newer and more nimble brands.
