McDonald’s has announced two strategic additions to its leadership team, reinforcing its commitment to brand integrity and global communications.
Kathy Baird is set to join as Chief Impact Officer for McDonald’s USA on September 30. In this role, she will oversee state and local government relations, brand and business communications, and sustainability efforts. Baird will report to Joe Erlinger, President of McDonald’s USA, and Jon Banner, Executive Vice President and Global Chief Impact Officer.
Anne Hammer will assume the position of Vice President and Global Chief Communications Officer on October 14. Hammer brings extensive experience in corporate communications and will be instrumental in shaping McDonald’s global messaging and stakeholder engagement strategies.
Kathy, in a statement, shared her excitement about his new role. She is thrilled to join McDonald’s and “help build on a legacy that’s shaped communities and earned trust across generations.”
These appointments come as McDonald’s continues to navigate a complex landscape of consumer expectations and regulatory challenges. The company has faced scrutiny over its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, leading to a week-long boycott earlier this year.
By bolstering its leadership with these seasoned professionals, McDonald’s aims to strengthen its brand reputation and enhance its communication strategies in an increasingly dynamic global market.
