In a strategic management realignment, Restaurant Brands International Inc. (RBI) has announced two major leadership appointments across its QSR portfolio. Peter Perdue has been named President of Popeyes U.S. & Canada, while Nicolas ā€œNicoā€ Henrich takes over as Chief Operating Officer of Burger King U.S. & Canada. These changes reflect RBI’s dual focus on operational refresh and growth acceleration within its key brands.

Peter Perdue, a 12-year RBI veteran, steps into his new role at Popeyes, succeeding Jeff Klein, who is departing the company. Prior to this appointment, Perdue led operations as COO of Burger King U.S. & Canada and spearheaded a turnaround initiative branded ā€œReclaim the Flame.ā€ His background spans operations, franchising and finance, including a stint as Regional Vice President for Burger King in the Asia-Pacific region.

RBI CEO Josh Kobza commented:

ā€œPopeyes has the best chicken in QSR, and Peter’s mandate is to unlock the share gains we know we are capable of.ā€

For Popeyes, the appointment signals a renewed focus on scaling, strengthening its operations and reclaiming competitive momentum in the U.S. chicken segment—a category where consumers continue to demand value, speed and relevance.

Simultaneously, Nico Henrich will assume the COO role at Burger King U.S. & Canada, succeeding Perdue. Henrich brings deep experience within RBI across franchising, development, finance, strategy and supply-chain leadership.

Tom Curtis, President of Burger King U.S. & Canada, noted:

ā€œNico’s proven leadership in our brand has earned the trust of our franchisees … As COO, he will continue driving operational excellence as a lead contributor to our long-term growth.ā€

Popeyes is being handed a turnaround architect who understands operations at scale, while Burger King is gaining a leader steeped in franchise development and system optimisation.
