Shake Shack Inc. (NYSE: SHAK) has appointed Jim Taylor as Chief Commercial Officer, a newly created role designed to enhance its global marketing, culinary, and growth strategy, the company announced on January 20, 2026.

Taylor brings more than 25 years of experience in general management, marketing, and brand strategy across the restaurant and consumer packaged goods sectors. Before joining Shake Shack, he spent over a decade with Inspire Brands, most recently as President of Sonic, and earlier held senior leadership positions at Arby’s, where he contributed to 12 consecutive years of sales growth.

Rob Lynch, CEO of Shake Shack, has appointed Taylor to oversee both the marketing and culinary teams. Taylor will be able to strengthen the revenue strategy and increase innovation while maintaining the company’s high-quality food and guest experiences. According to Lynch, Taylor’s appointment is necessary to help Shake Shack achieve its growth goals and develop a strong global presence.

Shake Shack has more than 660 locations worldwide, including approximately 240 restaurants in international markets across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, and is known for serving premium burgers, hand-spun milkshakes, and a warm hospitality ethos.

By appointing an experienced commercial leader as its new CEO, Shake Shack is part of a growing trend among global dining brands, where established commercial leaders are being hired to help their brands remain competitive. By combining their brand strategy with culinary innovation, Shake Shack hopes to fuel its growth and create deeper guest engagement in all of its diverse global markets.
