Eternal Ltd., the parent company of popular food delivery and quick-commerce brands such as Zomato, Blinkit, District, and Hyperpure, has furthered its strategic partnership with OpenAI to integrate highly advanced artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities across its consumer-facing offerings, partner-facing tools, and internal systems. This partnership highlights the growing importance of AI in transforming digital commerce, food delivery logistics, and enterprise operations globally.

As part of this furthered partnership, Eternal Ltd. will utilize the Enterprise API platform from OpenAI to integrate highly advanced AI models across a variety of applications, ranging from improving customer engagement and merchant experiences to building contextual AI assistants that can be integrated into partner-facing interfaces. The company will also apply OpenAI’s new coding models, such as GPT-5.3-Codex, to its internal automation and orchestration platform, Stitch.

Eternal’s AI project is much broader than simple chat functionality, with the goal of incorporating generative AI technology throughout the foundation of its commerce platform:

  • AI-Assisted Workflows: More sophisticated AI models will assist in optimizing work processes for restaurant partners, delivery personnel, and Eternal’s internal staff, automating mundane tasks and facilitating decision-making.
  • Contextual AI Assistants: AI technology will be integrated into partner applications, providing real-time information, advice, and automation of tasks to optimize operational efficiency and responsiveness.
  • Next-Gen Search and Discovery: Prototype AI-powered interfaces may revolutionize the way users search for restaurants, products, or offers, enhancing personalized recommendations and contextual discovery across Eternal’s family of applications.
  • AI-Native Venture Nugget: OpenAI technology will enable Eternal’s Nugget business venture, allowing for faster product development and innovation experimentation.
  • Partner Upskilling Program: This partnership also foresees the development of a formal program to enable restaurants and delivery partners to utilize more advanced AI technology, improving compliance, decision-making, and operational processes.

As stated by Albinder Singh Dhindsa, Group CEO of Eternal, ā€œThis partnership presents us with vast opportunities to learn, innovate, and implement the latest advancements in AI, ranging from software development automation to ā€˜real on-ground implications’ in the commerce and delivery ecosystems.ā€

The extension of the AI partnership between Eternal and OpenAI takes place in the context of a global shift towards the use of AI-powered commerce and service platforms. The retail and delivery sectors are increasingly adopting large language models to enhance customer engagement, fulfill complex tasks, and optimize operations, as witnessed in the case of Instacart, which has incorporated OpenAI technology to improve grocery shopping experiences.

For Eternal, which caters to tens of millions of users every month through its platforms, the focus on AI is intended to minimize hassles associated with ordering, delivery, and customer support, while also providing personalized experiences at scale. The incorporation of AI as a horizontal layer of its technology stack marks a transition from the conventional app-based approach to AI-powered conversational and predictive commerce.
