In a significant move to enhance the travel experience for train passengers, MakeMyTrip has partnered with Zomato to introduce a ‘Food on Train’ service. This collaboration allows travelers booking train tickets via the MakeMyTrip app to order meals from over 40,000 restaurants listed on Zomato, with deliveries made directly to their seats at more than 130 railway stations across India.

The service spans all meal times, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks, and utilizes MakeMyTrip’s proprietary ‘Live Train Status’ tool to ensure timely delivery aligned with the train’s schedule. Passengers can pre-book meals up to seven days in advance using their Passenger Name Record (PNR) details, offering a seamless dining experience during their journey.

This initiative comes amid a growing demand for e-catering services on Indian Railways. In the fiscal year 2024–25, over 90,000 rail passengers used Indian Railways’ e-catering services daily, marking a 66% year-on-year growth.

To celebrate the launch, MakeMyTrip is offering a special Diwali coupon to passengers, providing additional value and encouraging the adoption of this new service.
