Michelin-starred Chef Rohit Ghai is returning to India to launch his first restaurant in the country, an elevated, contemporary Indian dining experience at The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore, scheduled to open later this month. This marks a significant homecoming for one of the UKās leading Indian culinary talents.
A graduate of IHM Pusa, Ghai built his global reputation through celebrated London concepts like Kutir, Manthan, and Vatavaran, as well as acclaimed international projects including Aangan at Shangri-La Oman and Rivayat at The Oberoi Marrakech. Together with his two cookbooksāTarkari and Yatraāhe reflects a modern, boundary-crossing vision of Indian gastronomy.

He revealed that The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore approached him with the idea of a signature fine-dining Indian restaurant, and he saw alignment in values and long-term vision, making the brand his first choice for debut in India.
The forthcoming restaurant will fully reimagine the space previously occupied by āRiwaz.ā According to Ghai, the menu will blend traditional Indian recipes with modern techniques and seasonal local produce, sophisticated yet rooted in authenticity. A la carte will anchor the launch, with tasting menus to follow once the skilled team of eight chefs is fully in place.
