MakeMyTrip has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sun Hospitality & Entertainment Group (S.H.E)—one of Vietnam’s leading hospitality & entertainment conglomerates—to deepen India-Vietnam travel connections. The partnership is designed to spotlight Vietnam’s resorts, attractions and immersive experiences to Indian holidaymakers, aligning with surging demand and eased visa regimes.

Tourist arrivals from India to Vietnam have more than doubled since 2019: from 169,000 in 2019 to 392,000 in 2023 (a 231% jump). In 2024, that number crossed 500,000 visitors, and in just the first half of 2025, India sent 337,000 travellers. Sun World destinations—Vietnam’s theme parks and entertainment landmarks operated by S.H.E—are already seeing this growth live: nearly 300,000 Indian visitors in H1 2025 alone, up about 101% from the same period in 2024.

Through the deal, MakeMyTrip will include Sun Group’s resorts, hotels, and entertainment/destination offerings in its India-facing holiday packages and experiences. Jasmeet Singh, CCO – Holidays & Experiences, MakeMyTrip, said, as noted by Hotelier India the move is about “bringing the best of Vietnam’s resorts, hotels, and world-class attractions into our itineraries, giving Indian travellers a richer and more immersive holiday experience.”

Tran Nguyen, Deputy General Director of Sun Hospitality & Entertainment Group, in the same article, added: “India is now among Vietnam’s fastest-growing source markets, with arrivals more than tripling since 2019. Through our association with MakeMyTrip, we aim to showcase Sun Group’s world-class destinations to Indian travellers and further strengthen Vietnam’s position as a high-quality, experiential destination of choice.”

The India-Vietnam corridor is turning into one of the fastest-growing travel lanes for MakeMyTrip. With this MoU, the platform is betting that Indian travellers want more than destinations, they want stories, adventures, and memorable stays.
