IHG Hotels & Resorts has appointed seasoned industry veteran Jaideep Dang as Head of Development for South West Asia, signaling an intensified focus on regional expansion across India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Bhutan. In this pivotal role, Dang will report directly to Sudeep Jain, Managing Director for South West Asia, and accelerate the company’s growth strategy through new signings and deeper partnerships.
Dang brings more than 22 years of leadership in hospitality and real estate, most recently as Managing Director of JLL India’s Hotels & Hospitality Group. He led the firm to market-leading status in hotel investment sales, managing contracts, valuations, and feasibility studies across South Asia. Before that, he served as Senior Vice President, Strategic Development at The Oberoi Group, further establishing his credentials for this growth mandate.
India continues to be a high-priority growth market for IHG. The group marked a milestone earlier this year with its 50th hotel opening in the country and now maintains a robust pipeline of more than 70 hotels across luxury, premium, and mainstream segments in key emerging cities.
With a goal to reach 100 operating properties within 3–5 years, the timing of Dang’s appointment aligns with IHG’s push for faster, more strategic expansion.
