Topgolf Bets on Experience-Led Growth with David McKillips as CEO

Topgolf has a new Chief Executive Officer, David McKillips, who has been in the industry for over 30 years. Before joining TopgolfĀ® in this exciting new position, McKillips was a senior executive at Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, where he was instrumental in leading operations for all food & beverage, retail, games & merchandise, and procurement for the corporation and, in addition to his corporate roles, was also involved with international parks development and securing strategic partnerships with various companies. David McKillips joins Topgolf as CEO with over 25 years of broad experience in building large-scale entertainment ecosystems and a strong commitment to Topgolf’s hybrid model that includes sports, food and beverage, hospitality, and immersive leisure.

As the new Senior Vice President of Strategic Growth & Development at Topgolf, McKillips will be responsible for overseeing the company’s strategic planning efforts, including planning for expansion into new markets, managing the company’s overall business growth, and overseeing Topgolf’s global network of entertainment venues, as well as the company’s proprietary technology platforms, including Toptracer. 

His recent appointment to this position comes at a critical time for Topgolf, as the organization is working to enhance its position in the marketplace, moving from being a golf venue operator to a much larger, more comprehensive experiential entertainment brand.

The leadership of McKillips is anticipated to help continue developing guest engagement and to create further experiential formats at both the casual consumer and highly engaged player segments of the market, which have become increasingly important drivers of growth within ā€œcompetitive socialisingā€ concepts globally.
