In a decisive step toward institutionalizing leadership and bolstering strategic governance, Lemon Tree Hotels Ltd has announced a sweeping leadership restructuring effective October 1, 2025, subject to shareholder approval. The changes align with the group’s long-term succession planning and aim to accelerate expansion through asset-light models.
Founder Patanjali Govind Keswani will transition from Managing Director to become Executive Chairman of both Lemon Tree Hotels and its material subsidiary, Fleur Hotels. Keswani will relinquish routine executive responsibilities to focus on strategic oversight, ensuring a smooth leadership handoff, and championing asset-light expansion plans.
At the core of operational management, the company has appointed Neelendra Singh as the new Managing Director of Lemon Tree Hotels, former managing director of Adidas India.
Singh brings 26 years of executive leadership in retail, notably from Adidasāwhere he held positions from Regional Manager (West India) to General Manager/Managing Director (India).
Simultaneously, Kapil Sharma, currently CFO and long-serving executive since 2004, has been elevated to Executive Director & CFO. Sharma will continue overseeing finance while expanding his purview to include strategy, technology, legal, and procurement.
Also central to operations is Vishvapreet Singh Cheema, appointed President in June 2025, who continues to lead operations, human resources, and revenue, leveraging his 28 years in hospitality with experience at IHG, Oberoi, Marriott, among others.
At Fleur Hotels Limited, Keswani similarly remains as Executive Chairman. Saurabh Shatdal takes on the role of Managing Director & CEO, bringing 27 years of expertise in capital markets, land acquisition, and hospitality operations, with a recent stint at Cushman & Wakefield.
Financial stewardship continues under Mayank Sharma, retained as CFO, focusing on finance, asset management, and procurement. Sanjeev Jain remains VP ā Projects & Engineering, responsible for design, development, and renovations of hotel assets.
This leadership realignment is a calculated move to scale operations, refine governance, and deepen franchise/subsidiary focus. For restaurant-tech stakeholders, supply chain partners, and institutional investors, it offers clarity and opportunity in aligning with a growth-oriented, professionally steered hospitality network.
