Global hospitality group Accor has appointed Graham Dodd as its new Vice President of Development for the UK and Ireland, specifically covering its premium, midscale, and economy brand portfolio

In his new role, Dodd will oversee expansion plans for a range of Accor brands, including Pullman, Mƶvenpick, SwissĆ“tel, Novotel, Mercure, TRIBE, Ibis, Greet, and the Handwritten Collection.

Dodd joins Accor after a long stint at Hilton, where he led development efforts for its UK and Ireland operations. Before his tenure at Hilton, he worked at advisory firms including Knight Frank Hotels, Christie & Co, and Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels.

Philippe Bijaoui, Chief Development Officer for Premium, Midscale & Economy at Accor Europe & North Africa, praised Dodd’s ā€œbrilliant track record and strategic insight,ā€ saying he is exceptionally well-placed to drive Accor’s growth in the region. Dodd himself stated that he is ā€œexcited … to further strengthenā€ Accor’s presence in the UK and Ireland and to introduce local owners to its ā€œinnovative brandsā€ such as TRIBE and Greet.

Accor’s decision to bring in Graham Dodd is a signal that the group is doubling down on aggressive growth in one of its most important markets. The UK and Ireland are mature but fiercely competitive hospitality landscapes, and Dodd’s deep experience at Hilton, combined with his real estate advisory background, gives him a unique edge.

More than simply enlarging Accor’s footprint, Dodd’s remit suggests a strategic pivot toward dual-brand and conversion growth, especially for Accor’s newer and more nimble brands.
