Boston’s Pizza has named longtime executive Sergio Carvallo president of its U.S. division, putting an operator with experience expanding the brand in Mexico in charge of its American business. The appointment comes as the chain looks to strengthen franchise performance and reverse a recent decline in its U.S. footprint.

Carvallo brings more than three decades of hospitality and business leadership experience, including work with Nestlé, Cuervo, Laureate and Yum Brands. He joined Boston’s Pizza more than a decade ago and opened its Mexico City office in 2015, leading the brand’s expansion to 28 restaurants in that market. He was appointed president of the Boston’s Pizza brand in the U.S. and Mexico in January 2026.

In the U.S. role, Carvallo is expected to focus on brand development, operations, franchise profitability and community engagement. He has also pointed to continued investment in existing restaurants, service and marketing as priorities.

“Boston’s Pizza has strong appeal among families and sports enthusiasts alike,” Carvallo said, describing its “two-experiences-under-one-roof” concept as versatile. He said modernizing restaurants and communicating the brand’s value proposition would help build on its performance in other markets.

The leadership change arrives against a difficult backdrop. Boston’s Pizza ended 2025 with approximately $48.7 million in U.S. system sales, down 10.1% year over year, according to Technomic data cited by Nation’s Restaurant News. The chain had 20 U.S. locations at year-end, compared with 22 in 2024, and nearly 50 in 2010.
