The LaLiT Suri Hospitality Group, an Indian hotel company operating luxury and mid-market properties, has earmarked ₹600 crore for expansion over the next five years, with plans to add approximately 1,000 rooms to its existing portfolio of 2,300. The investment will combine development of owned hotels with management contracts, allowing the group to expand its presence while balancing capital investment and asset-light growth.
The company currently operates 14 hotels across India, including 12 luxury properties under The LaLiT brand and two mid-market hotels under The LaLiT Traveller.
According to Chairperson and Managing Director Jyotsna Suri, approximately half of the additional rooms will come through owned properties, while the remainder will be developed through management contracts with partners. In comments reported by Mint, Suri said the group plans to invest ₹600 crore in properties where it owns the land, while using management agreements in markets where partners provide the capital. She added that both models would retain the group’s characteristic identity and service ethos.
The owned-property expansion is planned across five destinations: Ahmedabad, Chitrakoot, Bekal, Goa and Udaipur.
Ahmedabad is a key part of the development pipeline. The group is planning a 240-room luxury hotel there, targeted to open ahead of the city’s 2030 Commonwealth Games. A smaller property of approximately 50 rooms is also planned for Chitrakoot. The projects give the company a presence in markets beyond the country’s largest established hotel destinations.
