Accor has announced the appointment of Ranju Alex as its Chief Executive Officer for South Asia, effective August 27, 2025. In this role, Alex will oversee the company’s operations across India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Accor currently operates over 70 hotels in the region, with more than 30 additional properties in the pipeline.
Alex joins Accor from Marriott International, where she served as the Regional Vice President for South Asia, managing more than 170 hotels across the region. Her career in hospitality spans over three decades, beginning with The Oberoi Group in 1993. She has held various leadership positions within Marriott, contributing significantly to the company’s growth in the region.
In recognition of her outstanding contributions to the hospitality industry, Alex was recently honored with the Bharat Gaurav award, a prestigious accolade acknowledging her achievements and leadership in the sector .
Earlier this year, Accor and InterGlobe announced the formation of a joint venture aimed at consolidating their businesses into a single entity, subject to receiving the necessary regulatory approvals. Gaurav Bhushan, Chairman of the proposed joint venture, expressed enthusiasm about Alex’s appointment, highlighting her extensive experience and the value she brings to the partnership.
With Ranju Alex at the helm, Accor aims to strengthen its presence in South Asia and drive growth in the region’s dynamic hospitality market.
