India has taken center stage in the global spirits world: Cashmir Vodka, the country’s first small-batch organic craft vodka, has won Gold at The Vodka Masters 2025, a rigorous competition by The Spirits Business. This milestone puts Indian craft distilling firmly on the international map.

Launched in May 2025 by Piccadily Distilleries, Cashmir is crafted from Sona Moti, a 2,000-year-old organic heritage winter wheat once nearly extinct. After six years of revival, this ancient grain—non-GMO, non-hybrid—is now central to Cashmir’s identity.

The vodka undergoes seven rounds of distillation followed by precision filtration done five times using a mix of activated carbon, mango charcoal, and layers of platinum, gold, and silver. The final blend uses glacial water from Kashmir Valley. The result is an additive-free, vegan spirit with velvety smoothness and clarity.

For Piccadily Distilleries, the Gold at The Vodka Masters is not just an award, it represents India’s arrival in the premium organic vodka category. Shalini Sharma, Head of Marketing at Piccadily Agro Industries, said:

“This recognition is a victorious moment for CASHMIR and a proud triumph for India. It demonstrates that India can not only match but truly surpass the world’s finest in vodka craftsmanship. CASHMIR, India’s first premium organic small-batch vodka, is born from world-class distillation and is deeply rooted in India’s terroir. With Sona Moti, we have once again championed innovation, bringing back a grain steeped in history and reimagining it for a new era of luxury spirits. CASHMIR is not just another vodka; it is liquid proof of India’s unstoppable rise in the global luxury landscape.”
