Serve Robotics, a firm specializing in autonomous sidewalk delivery robots, has announced a new strategic partnership with DoorDash, enabling the deployment of its robot fleet to fulfill DoorDash orders, beginning in Los Angeles, with plans to expand across the U.S. over time.
Under this multi‑year collaboration, customers ordering from participating restaurants via the DoorDash app in Los Angeles may receive deliveries via Serve’s sidewalk robots.
DoorDash frames this as part of its “multi-modal logistics platform” strategy, combining human couriers (Dashers), drones, and autonomous robots to optimize cost, speed, and efficiency of last-mile delivery.
According to Serve, the deal is expected to broaden its customer base and increase order volume without requiring proportional additional capital investment.
Prior to this deal, Serve had been operating its robots exclusively with Uber Eats in U.S. cities including Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Miami, and Dallas.
To date, Serve has completed over 100,000 deliveries from more than 2,500 restaurants across its working markets.
Serve has stated that it remains “on track” to have 2,000 delivery robots operating in the U.S. by end of year.
