McDonald’s has named Bryan Brown as its new U.S. Chief Development Officer, reinforcing the company’s commitment to accelerating restaurant expansion and modernizing its physical footprint in one of its most important markets.

Brown will oversee McDonald’s U.S. development strategy, including restaurant construction, remodeling, real estate, design, and facilities management. The appointment comes as the company continues executing one of the largest restaurant expansion plans in its history.

McDonald’s has set an ambitious target of reaching 50,000 restaurants globally by the end of 2027, up from more than 43,000 restaurants today. The expansion strategy includes opening roughly 900 new restaurants annually in the U.S. and international operated markets, while simultaneously modernizing existing locations with upgraded drive-thrus, digital ordering capabilities, and enhanced operational efficiency.

Brown succeeds John Palmaccio, who is retiring after more than three decades with the company.
