Indian specialty coffee brand Blue Tokai Coffee Roasters is making its entry into the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) market through a strategic partnership with Ambrosia Foods, marking another milestone in the international expansion of premium coffee brands from emerging markets.
According to The Economic Times Hospitality, Ambrosia Foods has secured the master franchise rights to launch and operate Blue Tokai cafés across the GCC. The partnership begins with the opening of the brand’s first café in Dubai, with plans to expand across key regional markets in the coming years.
Founded in 2013 by Matt Chitharanjan and Namrata Asthana, Blue Tokai has grown into one of India’s leading specialty coffee companies by building direct relationships with coffee growers, roasting premium Indian beans, and promoting a traceable farm-to-cup model. The company today operates more than 175 cafés across India while also expanding its retail, e-commerce and packaged coffee businesses.
The move into the GCC comes as specialty coffee consumption continues to rise across the Middle East.
